Confidence and clarity for students and startups to share their ideas that matter
Do you, your students, startups, or your staff need to gain confidence when sharing ideas and speaking on video?
Do you or they want to learn how to use storytelling techniques to powerfully present what you do, and engage and grow an audience online?
Do you want to develop effective techniques and sustainable strategies to consistently and affordably use video to share your business ideas, values and stories?
As a TEDx curator and professional presenter, I can help participants gain the skills, experience and confidence to powerfully share ideas on video.
Who can benefit
I work with educational institutions, startup businesses and academies – and my expertise can be applied to subject areas including: business and idea development, marketing and communications, public speaking and PR, and team and audience engagement.
These sessions I deliver both in person and virtually, and favour practical and interactive sessions wherever possible.
I also work with your team members, customers and suppliers, and case study subjects – to help them naturally and authentically share their stories, values and positive experiences of working with or for you.
This support can be delivered either to groups or on a one-to-one basis – as required
How it works
1. Holistic approach to developing content, context and confidence
From extensive experience I have learn that true confidence on video and in public speaking does not come purely from ‘skills’ in presenting – but rather it comes from passion and belief in what you have to say and why people need to hear it.
Often participants’ fears and concerns come from a miss-match in the what they are trying to say and how they are trying to say it. I help them find styles and technique authentically express what they want to say – in a way that feels more natural – as as a result they feel more confident.
2. Participants get opportunity to try multiple styles and find one which is right for them
By proving participants an opportunity to learn about and experience first hand a range of different styles of presenting, they are able to find a style which more naturally works for them.
This experience of variety in different ways of speaking also helps to highlight the fact that, that just because they are unconfident at one, it doesn’t not mean they are ‘bad’ at presenting; but rather they just are more suited to an alternative style.
3. Interactive and practical sessions provide experience based learning
Speaking with confidence is an action which requires practice. By providing the safe space for participants to practically explore what they have learnt, they begin to cement the skills and techniques, while also gaining the opportunity to receive further feedback and refinement
By combining and aligning both media coaching with storytelling strategy skills, it allows participants to develop ways to confidently and constantly be sharing their ideas, and always know what to say and how to say it.
Why choose LVB Creative
1. Experience curating 4 TEDx events and 40+ TEDx speaker.
From my 5 years experience curating a unique TEDx speaker development program, I learnt what is required to help speaker powerfully and confidently share ideas. Many of these speakers had limited to no previous experience of public speaking, and through the process also when through significant development of what, why and how they wanted to share in their final talks.
Intimate and personal research interviews with countless successful TEDx speakers has also given me insight into the emotional and mental journey side of sharing big ideas, stories and values – and from it an understanding of the personal challenges and fears which limit us in our confidence and actions.
2. Applying broadcast media storytelling techniques to self-published online content
The style of storytelling used in broadcast media can teach us a lot about both how to produce engaging promotional video content online, and how to do it in a way that feels natural and authentic.
The benefit of storytelling techniques is two-fold; as if we can tap into our own personal stories and experiences we can also find a natural confidence and passion, while still being aligned with what do and what we are promoting.
Building confidence on camera is an ongoing process, and one which requires ongoing practice and exposure to perfect.
Even if delivering just a single workshop, I work with participants to help them develop a mindset which enables them to overcome fears and judgement of ‘right/wrong’, and instead embraces a ‘continuous improvement’ and ‘test and learn’ approach to finding their unique style and audience.
