Sustainable Futures Forum: Social video skills and confidence

Folkestone & Hythe District Council, as part of their Sustainable Futures Forum initiative, wanted to provide business training support to help local SME’s develop and promote their sustainable initiatives. 

To achieve this, selected SME’s took part in an 8 week group video coaching programme – to help them gain the skills and confidence to produce regular social media videos; educating, showcasing, and promoting their sustainability work. 

The programme provided training, development, peer feedback and support, and most importantly a safe space for participants to test and learn which of the different options worked best for them.  Participants were encouraged to produce and publish multiple pieces of video content during the programme itself; enabling them to gain real world feedback and learning, and to refine a unique style and approach which worked most effectively and efficiently for them.  

Participants produced many videos and received great feedback; helping them gain much confidence and momentum.  Many continue to post consistently; growing an audience, building a strong brand, and educating and inspiring potential client – all of which contributed to ongoing growth of their businesses.
